Try as I might, I still haven't managed to find the lost city of Atlantis, so I thought I'd have a stab at this game in the hope it will give me some clues. Atlantis Redux sees you assume the role of a young archeologist who must travel to the most mysterious corners of ancient Egypt. Along the way you get to explore palaces, deserts, and evertually, the aquatic wonder of the fabled city itself.
Graphically, this game blew me away and represents a great advert for what the Symbian platform is capable of. Although static, all the scenes are perfectly rendered and really evoke the atmosphere of a trek through Egypt. In order to proceed through the game, you need to complete a series of puzzles, which grow in their complexity, making this a real attention grabber. You get to collect objects and converse with a variety of weird and wonderful characters along the way, so the game is diverse enough to keep you amused for a very long time.
Atlantis is a game that expertly recaptures the magic of the genre that was huge in the 90s - the graphical adventure.
